West Allis, WI (10.5.2019): On a muddy and brisk day; the Lakers competed in the Warrior Invitational. The Lakers were led by a strong performance from Ariel Galoff.
How it Happened: The Lakers were led by Ariel Galoff, who finished 44th overall with a time of 27:53 on the 6k course. "Ariel ran well and is starting to take form for good things to come in the latter part of the season," said Coach Tiberg.
The Lakers remaining roster was led by another good effort from Sydney Budd placing 52nd with a time of 28.29. The Lakers were rounded out by races from Yesenia Paredes and Elizabeth Ward placing 90th and 91st respectively.
Despite the muddy conditions, Coach Tiberg was happy with the way that his team performed, stating; "The women ran very well for the circumstance. This race was slower across the board from all schools but it was a great mental test. We need to be prepared for wet and muddy conditions and this meet may not pop off the timesheet now, however, when November comes around this will be a meet that will help."
The Warrior Invitational was won by Edgewood University with a team score of 49 followed by Wisconsin Lutheran College with a score of 100.
Up Next: Lakers will be on the road in Grand Rapids, MI to compete in the Great Lakes Challenge hosted by Aquinas College. Lakers are set to race the 5000m course at 1:15 (EST) PM on Saturday, October 26th.
